The interdisciplinary cancer outpatient clinic was founded three years ago and is being managed by oncologists and surgeons. The clinic is a first contact for all oncological patients addressing to our University Medical Center and offers 24 hours availability.
Not only medical doctors but also medical secretaries, nurses, nutritionists and psychologists are part of the team. For chemo therapy we hold out a day hospital as well as a special consultation-hour concerning coagulation issues. Furthermore, a study nurse accompanies all clinical investigations carried out in the outpatient clinic.
The cancer outpatient clinic is available 24/7 via phone (0)431 597 5000. Our staff assures that any patient addressing to our clinic gets a fixed appointment within few days. Patient-specific therapy is provided by the corresponding department or partner joining the CCC North, if required even at short notice.
Every diagnose and therapy is subject to discussion in one of our tumor board conferences. As a matter of principle, these conferences are joined by a pneumologist, a gastroenterologist, an abdominal surgeon, a thoracic surgeon, an oncologist, a radiologist and a radio-oncologist. Other specialist divisions are being called in if indicated.
Apart from this very central facility there are of course additional outpatient clinics (see list below) focussing on different special aspects and groups of patients.
