Über die Veranstaltung

Dear Colleagues,

We cordially invite you to participate at our “1st Baltic Pancreatic Cancer Symposium” on Oct.18, 2017.

The venue will be Hotel Atlantic, Lübeck in the centre of the historic capital of the former Hanse surrounded by historic treasures of this Unesco world heritage city.

Pancreatic cancer still remains a devastating disease due to its early invasion and metastasis formation. More than 80 % of patients are initially diagnosed with advanced, incurable disease. Until recently, palliative chemotherapy was the only therapeutic option. At the symposium, internationally recognized experts will portray and discuss novel therapeutic strategies for locally advanced, non-metastatic disease that are currently emerging.

The focus of the symposium is on advanced pancreatic cancer and its management. Neoadjuvant pretreatment of borderline resectable tumors has lead to secondary resectability in up to 30 %. In palliation several techniques as focussed radiation therapy by cyberknife and irreversible electroporation have recently emerged and the current State of the Art and evidence is presented in this meeting by internationally reknown experts in the field.

We are looking forward to your participation in this meeting and welcome you to the University and the city of Lübeck.
